Money. It's just paper...

A Book, A Coffee Cup or Money?

Money. It's just paper...

“This planet has – or rather had – a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn’t the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.”~Douglas Adams

Is there something you see in the picture that holds more value to you than the other things? Which would you rather have? A Book? A coffee cup? Money?

As I was scrolling through my Facebook feed one day I came across this picture taken by my friend Jonathan Pitts with the words “Today, through my travels, I’ve got Dollars, Euros, and Pounds at the same time. Because of that I’m reminded that they’re just paper.”

A profound statement to be sure. Although he was referring to the ‘currency’ from different countries it struck me that ALL of the items pictured are made of paper and it is merely how we think about those items that gives them value.

If you could pick just one of the items pictured which one would you pick? While we most certainly (at least I sincerely hope we) value books, surely we don’t value a coffee cup the same way. While we might think highly of both the book or coffee cup if given a choice of all three items we would, more than likely, choose the money.

Why wouldn’t we? It has the most value right? I should also ask, which currency you chose because all of them have different values.  Unless you trade currency or are a world traveler or banker, you probably picked the one that has the most value to YOU.

As of today we would have to pay $1.09 USD to buy one Euro and $1.29 USD to buy one British Pound. The British Pound is more valuable according to currency markets. You did pick the British Pound right? Value is a funny thing when we realize it’s simply a piece of paper that we, as a society or country, have assigned a value.

At one time cattle and salt were extremely valuable. They were the currency of their time. Can you imagine if your employer told you they were going to give you a cow or pay you in salt instead of a paycheck? You’d be looking for another job post-haste.

As you can see, what we value is fluid, based on our collective agreement. How we think about and judge money is what gives it value. There are those who think about money as the end all, be all and spend a great deal of time trying to attain great wealth. There are those who reject money because of what it represents to them. There are those obsessed with it and those who couldn’t care less about it.

Many people carry a great deal of judgement about money. The reality is that it is not good or bad and yet we give up a great deal of our space to what we perceive as an almighty, powerful piece of paper. In and of itself, as Jonathan pointed out, money is “just paper.”

I’m not suggesting that money doesn’t have value or that we don’t need it in today’s society to live. We certainly need it according to societal norms. This, however, is simple food for thought as I get to the real point about value as it relates to our self-worth. You knew I’d get to the point sooner or later!

Is your self-worth connected or attached to money?

Does your perceived value (self-worth) go up or down depending on how much you have in the bank? Are you a book full of talent, knowledge and stories waiting for others to see your value before you see it yourself? Are you an empty paper cup waiting for someone to fill you up?

It’s fascinating how much of our space and power we give over to those things in the physical world. If we equate our value with income or how much we have in the bank we are looking outside of ourselves. In effect we are allowing some collective agreement to dictate our value.

What if instead of attaching our self-worth to money we turned our attention within to discover our REAL value? What would it be like if we determined our value and self-worth by connecting with who we truly are instead of attaching it to pieces of paper?

All the items pictured are “just paper” and their value is fluid. It is our judgment which gives them varying degrees of value. If your self-worth is attached to anything other than the magnificent being that you are, cut the cord, take back your power and connect with that which has real value. YOU!~Shine Your Light Debbie

Please EXcuse the exCuse’!

How many times in your life have you asked someone to excuse you? How many times have you found yourself making an excuse for yourself or someone else?

Asking to be excused is a polite way of asking to be ‘released’ from a requirement.

A few examples: when you were in school and needed to be excused from class, you brought a note from your parents. Others are when you excuse yourself for bumping into someone or you are trying to get someone’s attention when they are doing something else.

What about the other definitions? The english language  is tricky if it is not your mother tongue but it IS interesting that the same word is used to pardon or release someone (or yourself) from blame as well as to offer a “reason” for something you cannot or choose not to do.

How many times a day do you make an excuse or excuse yourself?

Who or what are you exactly excusing and to whom? Are you somehow justifying  or rationalizing something to yourself in the process? Do you find yourself making excuses for someone else? More importantly are you being truthful when you are asking to be excused or are you simply making an excuse?

When you take ownership of the things you do or say there is no need for an excuse! Ownership means taking responsibility for your actions, words, and choices and how they may have affected someone else or possibly even how the excuses (or excusing yourself) affects your life.

Being polite is not just wonderful, it’s the right thing to do. Of course we try to be polite with each other but it’s a completely different energy when we ‘make excuses’  to assign blame,  or we choose not to take ownership of a decision that we (or someone else) has consciously or unconsciously made.

Oh yes. We not only make excuses for ourselves but we make excuses for others and sometimes we do this to assign blame or avoid the truth. When we make excuses for others we are, at some level, healing them but that, my friends, is a subject for another post.

Take a deep dive into “why”!

Don’t ask why, explore why. Exploring WHY you choose a particular word,  an action (or inaction), or why you made a certain choice leads you to learning more about yourself.

Taking an inner journey to explore the “why” opens the door to forgiveness and change.

What you notice in self-exploration is not to be judged. What you did or didn’t do in the past is probably not how you would handle it now. The important steps to this are to see what you see. Acknowledge what you see. Own what you see. Forgive yourself. Taking ownership has a great deal of freedom that comes along with it.

Every thought, deed or action has a learning experience tied to it. Your awareness and ownership of the choices you make (or made) can lead you on an interesting journey of the soul. You may even find that the choices you made in the past were laid on a foundation of programming built by someone else. If that’s the case, it’s time to build your own house on a foundation of ownership and truth.

This is not about being right or wrong in a situation. It’s about owning your choices and taking responsibility for them. If you make a mistake own it and learn from it. Clear the energy. Clear the guilt. Forgive yourself. Once the light of awareness  illuminates an excuse consider it an opportunity to learn and heal.

So please excuse the excuse! Take ownership of your life and stop making excuses! If you find yourself making excuses for someone else in your life forgive them for their lack of awareness. If you make excuses for yourself, forgive yourself.

YOU have the power to transform your life. You have the power to build a foundation without the need to make excuses. If you don’t want to start now, what’s your excuse? ~Shine Your Light Debbie

Full Moon Ritual

Full Moon Ritual: Make it simple and meaningful

Full Moon Ritual“And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, they danced by the light of the moon.”~Edward Lear

The upcoming full moon on May 21, 2016 will emit a spirited frequency that will surely leave you feeling more playful than in recent weeks.

We can start to celebrate (nearing) the end of a tumultuous Mercury Retrograde by turning our attention within and taking those last few reflective moments as Mercury hangs in the sky preparing to move forward on May 22nd.

This is a time to literally “dance by the light of the moon” and if you happen to be lucky enough to live near a body of water you can do it “hand in hand, on the edge of the sand”. Full moon rituals don’t have to be complicated and there is no right or wrong way to do them.

A full moon ritual honors the cycles and so it’s best to follow your intuition and do what you are guided to do. Create your ritual consciously, with intent and add those elements that hold great meaning for you.

Spend a few days before the full moon thinking about what is meaningful for you. What is your goal? Are you looking to create space for manifesting love or money or beautiful moments? Are you looking to release that which no longer serves you?

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”~Norman Vincent Peale

The beauty of a full moon is it illuminates “the dark side” and therefore allows us to see with more clarity so we can heal those areas that we are now able to see. The energy of each full moon is different so each ritual might be slightly different depending on where your spirit takes you.

A full moon reflects light and with the tail end of Mercury Rx in our midst, we have a wonderful opportunity to truly light up what lights us up! We have an opportunity to connect with our spirit-self and our inner light in a new way.

“The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”~Tahereh Mafi

Embrace the moon and all it gives us. Honor the moon as the light in the darkness. Again, find what is most meaningful for you.

Years ago I was on a woman’s retreat near the Mojave desert and we decided to walk into the desert, form a circle and chant while each of us took a few moments to talk about what it means to be a part of a sacred circle. We didn’t know what we were doing. We didn’t follow a particular “ritual”.

We did what felt right to each of us. We created space for each woman to speak her truth and then we danced with playful abandon. We giggled and howled at the moon. We soaked up the energy of the moon all the while honoring each other in the process.

Just in case you’d like a bit of direction, here are a few tips to get you started:

  1. Ask yourself what your goal is for the ritual? Do you want to create space to heal? To manifest love or money or something else? Identify your goal and set your intent for the ritual.
  2. Mark the time you’d like to complete your ritual on your calendar. This helps ground the space AND it’s more likely you’ll actually do it.
  3. Honor the moon for it is there for your always. Honoring the moon can be as simple as looking up at the glorious ball of light and giving thanks to it. As long as you’re looking up, thank the stars too!
  4. Surround yourself with things that hold meaning. You can create an altar or hold in your hand one simple object that holds great meaning for you or simple “be” in a place you enjoy.
  5. Close your eyes and do a brief meditation to connect yourself (ground) with the earth and the cosmos.
  6. Create a space to release that which no longer serves.
  7. Let your mind playfully jump from thought to thought as you ground, center and release.
  8. With your eyes still closed and a smile on your face look up and feel the moon shining on your face. Literally soak up the energy of the moonbeams! You can even bring the energy in through the top of your head and allow it to gently flow through your entire body.
  9. Be sure to ask (or put into motion) your intent or your goal and let it go.
  10. Once you’re in the flow of the moon connected with the earth thank yourself and enjoy that space for however long you wish!

The most profound change happens when we do things that hold great meaning. Make your full moon ritual fun and meaningful. Allow it to change you so you have more space to create, more space to heal and more space to be happy!~Shine Your Light Debbie

Letting go is not about accepting defeat

Letting Go Isn’t About Accepting Defeat….

Letting go is not about accepting defeatHave you ever tried to let go and found yourself stuck in an endless loop of blame or continually asking “why, why, why” then wondering why you’re having difficulty letting go?

If you’re looking to make sense of things or waiting for an apology it simply may not happen. The fact is, it may never make sense and you may never get the apology you deserve.

Why is it so hard to let some things (or people) go?

Letting go has absolutely nothing to do with accepting defeat. It has nothing to do with failing. It’s difficult to let go when you are in resistance and if you truly break it down, trying to make sense of something is a form of resistance. Waiting for an apology or the truth or waiting for anything else you are waiting for, keeps you stuck waiting.

Maybe it’s time to open your heart, mind and soul to the lesson learned. Maybe it’s time to release the resistance and live again. You do have a choice in how you allow people to treat you. Maybe it’s time you forgive and love yourself.

Maybe it’s time to connect with God’s love. A love that “will bring people into your life that will love you, respect you, fight for you, show gratitude for your love and want to be a part of your life mission.”

“You might not get the apology you deserve. You might not get answers to explain the actions of others. You might not get truth that makes sense to you. You might not get people to understand what you went through because of them. You might not get communication.

You might not get maturity. You might not get mercy or even common decency. You might not get respect or the chance to explain your side of the story. However, you do get to choose how people treat you. God loves you enough to bring people into your life who won’t hurt you, abuse you, betray you, lie and gossip about you, psycho analyze you, break your heart or make you an option or choice.

He will bring people into your life that will love you, respect you, fight for you, show gratitude for your love and want to be a part of your life mission. The best part of this is you don’t have to convince them of your worth. They want to be there. They know your value. They know your struggles. They are in touch with their own faults and understand you struggle just like everyone else.

They won’t hold you to a greater standard then they do themselves. They care about you and don’t want to see you cry, feel discouraged or give up on this life. When you know the power of who you are and what you have to accomplish you will scratch your head in disbelief that you allowed other people to dictate who you are based on little knowledge of what God knows about you and your life purpose. Letting go isn’t about accepting defeat or acknowledging you were wrong. Sometimes letting go is realizing that God has something better in store for you.” ~Shannon L. Alder

No time? There's always time!

No Time? There’s ALWAYS time!

time flies

“Lost time is never found again.”~Benjamin Franklin

When was the last time you scheduled a play date or quiet time with yourself?

Have you ever noticed that no matter how effective you are prioritizing and managing your time it seems as if there’s ‘no time’ left for you?

What if I told you, you have all the time in the world? What if all the articles, and books about time management  have less to do with ‘time’ on a clock and more to do with owning your space?

“The timeless in you is aware of life’s timelessness.”~ Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

Have you heard the saying ‘your energy goes where your attention flows’? Just for a moment think about what is most important to you. Is it spending time with family? Relationships (both romantic and friendships)? Creating art? Nurturing your spirit and soul? Now, think about your ‘normal’ day. Do you schedule in time for yourself and those things important to you?

Of course we all have to work and have certain obligations and responsibilities to fulfill within our jobs and to our families, friends and pets BUT are YOU included? Do make space for you? Are YOU scheduled into your schedule?

Entrepreneurs, business owners, telecommuters and stay at home parents (yes, stay at home parents ARE working!) seem to have a challenge scheduling themselves (ourselves) in. They (we) are even more challenged sticking to those appointments

“It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.” ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

One of the things I’ve always noticed is how we (or others in our lives) seem to pull extra time out of thin air if there’s something we want to experience or do. We reset our daily or weekly schedule so we are sure to include the thing or experience we really, really want to include.

We not only somehow manage to complete our tasks but (generally) seem to complete them in less time and with ease. So what are we waiting for? Why don’t we include time in our daily schedules to create and nurture those things that light us up?

Setting priorities is something we all need to do and, of course, there are time-related deadlines we must meet however we will never have time for ourselves unless we create that space for ourselves. In essence, it’s not about having more time. It’s about including and inviting ourselves to enjoy our OWN space.

It’s about including that which makes our spirits sing. It’s about creating a schedule that INCLUDES rather than excludes ourselves. A schedule that includes time for us to put down our responsibilities to others for a moment. A schedule that includes time for us to nurture and honor our spirit, our creativity and our passion. There’s always time!

Inclusion, for ourselves, means taking time to be mindful of our own needs. It means allowing ourselves the freedom to be who we are which includes making time to cultivate our creativity. Give yourself permission to be creative for no other reason than how good it makes you feel on the inside.

Schedule yourself in. Create space for you to enjoy your own space, nurture your spirit and create something just for you.  It’ll make your spirit and body happy!~Shine Your Light Debbie

Step Out of the Shadows! It’s Time to Shine!

Shadow“Man stands in his own shadow and wonders why it’s dark”~Zen Proverb

A shadow is caused by a shape or object placed in front of a light source. In fact without the light, there would be no shadow; It would simply be darkness.

How often does our attention go towards the shadow without a moments thought of the light that’s already there? How often do we get in the way of our light then find ourselves engulfed in the shadows,  never thinking we are good enough because we don’t see the light?

It’s easy to get caught up in the darkness and isolation of the shadow self; To hide and immerse yourself in the shadow of self-doubt, self-loathing or self-punishment and so I now ask….when was the last time you chose to look at your own light?

When was the last time you chose to see at all those places where you really shine? What if doing so was as easy as turning around to look at yourself? Think about it. Where there is a shadow, there is light yet how often do you find yourself staring at the darkness of the shadow? If you are only seeing the shadow side, you are denying the light.

loveshadow

Keep in mind I’m not suggesting shadows are bad. Shadows give us a beautiful perspective when we have our amusement and consider we are being illuminated from another angle.

Creating shadows is great fun! Remember how much you enjoyed making shadow animals on the wall or making shapes in the sunlight?

What I am encouraging you to do here is to turn around, so to speak. Look at your light and not only see it BUT STAND IN IT! See what is already there!

Once you decide to see your light you may even discover the shadow you were so focused on wasn’t even your shadow, it was someone else’s. If you’re trying to “solve” or “fix” something and things aren’t changing it’s a good bet IT IS NOT YOUR ENERGY! Simply allow whatever it is you’ve tried to solve simply ‘be’ then bid it a fond farewell as you let it go.

Are you ready to step out of the shadows? Are you prepared to see your light?  If so, grab your sunglasses because you will truly be in for a treat! You are light and bright and your shadow is fun to play with! Get ready! It is time to shine!~Shine Your Light Debbie

How to meditate

How to Meditate Effectively: Hint it’s not about emptying your mind!

How to meditate“Meditation is the tongue of the soul and the language of our spirit.”~Jeremy Taylor

There are many different types of meditation and choosing which technique(s) you prefer is personal.

Some may prefer meditating sitting cross-legged on the floor, while others might choose to meditate standing on their heads

Sitting in a chair with feet flat on the floor is my preference (and what I teach) but I also tend to incorporate other techniques depending on where I am or what I’m doing.

There is no right or wrong way to meditate but there IS a common thread and that thread is going within, connecting more deeply with ourselves and mastering the ability to calm the mind, and acknowledge the magic of our spirit.

It’s a Shift of Focus and Perspective.

There are a lot of meditation techniques which subscribe to “emptying your mind” but have you ever really tried to do that? It’s like telling someone don’t think about a pink elephant. What’s the first thing you did when I said that? You probably smiled and thought of a pink elephant!

“If we know the divine art of concentration, if we know the divine art of meditation, if we know the divine art of contemplation, easily and consciously we can unite the inner world and the outer world.”~Sri Chinmoy

What if emptying your mind does not enter into the equation? What if meditation was less about a silent void and more about shifting your focus inward to connect with that magical, mystical part of you and you are welcoming yourself back home? Meditation really is the language of spirit; the divine art of uniting our inner and outer worlds.

Shifting your focus by turning your attention inward allows you to take a step back from those outer circumstances that often consume the mind while in the middle of experiencing them. As you bring your attention back to you, you “remind” yourself you are not your circumstances. You remind yourself you are a divine, infinite spirit and in doing so, your perspective will change.

What do you do with all those “thoughts”?

The simple answer to that question is let them be there. If you resist the thoughts that come up I guarantee they will stay in your head. Meditation is not about “pushing away” or “trying”. Turn your attention within and from a neutral place, notice the thoughts that come up for you. The mind is a wonderful thing and the moment you stop trying to solve or fix the thoughts in your head is the moment you can release them and fill up with the magic that is you.

When you stop trying to control your thoughts, or anything else for that matter, you are giving yourself a break from “managing” those things you really don’t have any control over, there is a release and, more than likely, a sense of relief. Meditating effectively has less to do with blank thoughts and more to do with the divine art of non-resistance.

Caution! Meditation causes an awakening.

“Your greatest awakening comes, when you are aware about your infinite nature.”~Amit Ray

As you journey within you become more aware of your divine and infinite nature. You begin to unravel and let go of untruths or negative beliefs (programming)  you may have held about yourself and others. You begin to see the “bigger picture.” You awaken and begin increasing your awareness of what is you and what is not. You awaken to truth.

Why the caution? The caution is because once you start to see the truth you can’t “un-see” it. If you truly want to meditate effectively you must face (and own) what comes up for you. This is not always an easy thing to do but in doing so, you are choosing YOU. You are choosing to uncover and discover YOU. You increase your awareness of yourself and others.

“Half an hour’s meditation each day is essential, except when you are busy. Then a full hour is needed.”~Saint Francis de Sales

Meditating effectively comes down to choosing to meditate. It’s about allowing your thoughts to “be”. It’s about release. It’s about owning and connecting with your magical, and infinite spirit. It’s about stepping out of your circumstances into your own personal and lovely inner sanctuary. It’s about grounding into your abilities and the miracle that is YOU. Welcome yourself back home.~Shine Your Light Debbie

A Message from the Ascended Masters: Purpose

Ascended Masters“I truly believe we can either see the connections, celebrate them, and express gratitude for our blessings, or we can see life as a string of coincidences that have no meaning or connection.
For me, I’m going to believe in miracles, celebrate life, rejoice in the views of eternity and hope my choices will create a positive ripple effect in the lives of others. This is my choice.” ~Mike Ericksen

We are all on a wonderful, magical journey but sometimes we forget our purpose and how we are able to create a positive “ripple effect” in the lives of others. We also need occasional reminders of the joy of being human as we move through our human experience.

I recently returned from a retreat in Mount Shasta. While on retreat I was not only reminded of my purpose but I had the opportunity to receive messages from the ascended masters to pass along. (Yes, being with a group of over 80 psychics is an experience!) I will share a bit of that wisdom here:

Those of you reading this are here at this time to help the world take a step up in awareness. We are ‘evolving’ and moving from the age of communication (5th Chakra) to a more spiritual centered society requiring clarity and vision (6th Chakra).

What we are witnessing in the world’s (and many of our own) “growth period’s” is the emergence of truth. Unfortunately to see the truth we must be brave and uncover the, more often than not, uncomfortable energies that we shoved away or pretended weren’t there instead of clearing them once and for good.

We are all being asked to free ourselves from the ambivalence and unconsciousness. We are being asked to step more into our awareness and aid others in doing the same. Evolution doesn’t have to be a revolution even if sometimes it feels that way.

We all have a role to play whether a healer, homemaker, financial guru, waiter/ess, etc. It doesn’t matter what you DO as much as opening up your awareness to who you ARE. We all have a gift to share with the world. It’s time to be present and aware and that means finding time to heal ourselves in the process.

It is time to take ownership for where we are and how we got to this place. It is time to uncover and discover and shine. It is time to be brave and awaken to those things we may not have wanted to see before. It’s also time to acknowledge the help we receive from the ascended masters, our angels and guides. We are not alone in this work and it cannot be completed without us.

How’s that for a message? There was much more but I wanted to share with you a few choice tidbits! What I will leave you with is this… Be curious. Ask questions. Awaken, accept, acknowledge and embrace not what you think is the truth but the real truth.

“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy-the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”~Brene Brown

Discover the infinite power of your light. Create a positive ripple effect in the world. Remember the joy of being human. Believe in miracles. Celebrate life. Rejoice. Be loving. Be joyful. Be kind.~Shine Your Light Debbie

Healing Spirit: Coming Together as One

shattered_lifeEvery morning I jump out of bed and step on a landmine. The landmine is me. After the explosion, I spent the rest of the day putting the pieces together.”~Ray Bradbury

There are times in life when we feel like we are, or about to, shatter into a million little pieces. Everything is falling apart and the overwhelm is a mountain that seems impossible to climb.

Believe it or not, this is a time to rejoice because when everything is falling apart, we are in the midst of a great spiritual healing; A reorganization of all that is. The explosion happens not because we are being punished but because we are more interested in the truth than the illusion.

While it is true it may take us time to put the pieces back together, more than likely we will put them together differently. Once shattered, we are able to see beyond the illusion. We are able to see beyond what we thought was there. We see the truth of who we are with greater clarity and are able to move forward with our creative design with more certainty.

Reinventing YourselfWhat if the shattering isn’t about something coming apart as much as it’s about revealing something more? What if the shattering is the healing? What if the “landmines” you step on are more about blowing up the lies and those pieces you get to put back together create a stronger foundation because they are built on truth? What if the shattering is about becoming more?

Shifting, changing and healing causes major disruption and often feels like we are shattering into a million little pieces. It takes us out of our comfort zone, brings up fear and causes us to re-evaluate everything. Once shattered we may experience feeling raw and vulnerable BUT we also feel more like ourselves.

The beauty of things falling apart is each of us has the ability to create something completely different with the pieces. The shattering is, in effect, a personal renewal. A time to re-invent ourselves. A time to shine. When we shatter it is a time of reflection as we decide how to put the pieces back together.

We are the artist and we choose how we want to put the pieces back into place yet instead of a puzzle where all the pieces must fit together in a specific way, there are infinite possibilities. We can add color, depth and hue.

At one time or another each of us will wake up in the morning and step on a landmine which has been the illusion of truth. We change how we see ourselves and recognize that maybe we ARE who we think we are instead of who others tell us we are. We will pick up the pieces and re-organize our lives. We will organize around our own self.

We shatter, we look at the pieces, we begin the process of putting them back together in a new way. We integrate all that we are as we become more of who we are. We will heal our spirit and come together as one within so we may become one with the all.~Shine Your Light Debbie

Are You Asking the Right Questions?

Asking the right questionsHave you ever gone looking for an answer to something and no matter what you do, where you look or what you meditate on the answer never comes?

If this has ever happened to you (or is happening now) you might want to ask a different question; Maybe the question you’re asking isn’t really yours!

Now you might be wondering what I mean by “is (are) the question(s) really yours?” What I’m asking you to ask yourself is where are your questions coming from?

Are you asking questions out of habit? Is there programming in place that causes you to ask certain questions or go on a quest to find answers for someone (like a friend or family member) other than yourself?

As an aside, it’s also possible you are receiving answers to the questions you are asking but you don’t necessarily recognize that no answer is THE answer. A perfect example is if you are constantly asking yourself “what is wrong with me?” and you don’t get an answer. Could it be that you’re not receiving an answer because there’s NOTHING wrong with you? Yes, dear ones, in the world of “everything is energy” no answer might actually be THE answer!

If at first you don’t succeed…

When asking questions simply ask a question then allow it to lead you to another question and then another. You may find that when you allow your questions to lead you to other questions your next question might answer to your previous question!

If the same question keeps coming up over and over or you find yourself stuck or in effort, make it a point to change the question. For example if you’re asking why this or that is happening (or hasn’t happened) to you or for you, change the question to “what do I need to clear to create space or raise my having-ness” to move forward?”

This is where you might notice the question wasn’t yours in the first place. Try not to judge whatever comes up for you. Just notice your energy and your thoughts. As spiritual seekers looking to heal, whether you like the answer or not, you are receiving valuable information.

Ask the right questions and the answers find YOU!

All healing starts with not only asking the right questions but continually asking questions. In the grand scheme of things, you don’t know what you don’t know (none of us do) and how will you find out if you don’t continually ask questions? When you ask the right questions the answers WILL find you. Allow your answers to come without expectation OR resistance.

It’s best to be open, in neutral and set your intention to accept the answers even if you don’t necessarily like what they are. If an answer doesn’t seem to come or you feel stuck in a never-ending loop of asking the same question over and over, check to see where the question is coming from or if it’s even yours.

If it’s not yours, let it go and ask a different question. If it IS yours and you’re still stuck, look within to see 1. if you already have the answer but haven’t acknowledged it yet and 2. if you’re asking a question directly related to what it is you really want know. It might be that you’re afraid to ask because you’re afraid of what that answer might be.

When you ask the right questions, you will receive answers. You may find that your question keeps leading you back to you because really, you already have your answers. Your answers live in your heart, your mind and your curious spirit. Look inside! You have a treasure trove of answers just waiting for you!~Shine Your Light Debbie
