A Facade is typically one side of the exterior of a building, usually the front, but also sometimes the sides and rear that shows the most prominent and detailed architectural features.
The structure is breathtakingly beautiful with its detailed craftsmanship from the outside, but what’s on the inside can be very different.
What was once a beautiful interior may be in need of a bit of rehab if no one’s lived there or taken care of it for a while. It may be outdated. There could be cobwebs, layers of dust, and the need for some new paint! You get the idea here. 🙂
Appearances can be deceiving! Some people spend their lives making sure the details are perfect on the outside, yet neglect the very thing that needs a little rehab and holds the key to true happiness. Maybe it’s time to open the door to the inside!
There is really nothing outside of you that is going to make you happy on the inside. Not material things, not the perfect lover, not your friends. An energetic facade is occasionally put up to show others how ‘happy’ you are but if you are hurting inside it actually takes a good deal of effort to hold up!
Perhaps it’s difficult to look behind the facade if there is garbage piled up, or storage boxes of pain you’ve been meaning to unpack but still carry with you. If so, get out your broom and dustpan, gold cloth and start sparkling up the inside! No time like the present to clean it out and clear the “stuff” piling up in the corner!
Keep in mind that it’s not always easy to unpack the boxes. There can be painful memories that come up. If your energy is stuck in these memories you have less of it present to create with in the NOW but once you start, like any rehab project, there’s no turning back and the results will be STUNNING! 🙂
Here’s where it gets fun! YOU are the general contractor! YOU are the designer! You get to sweep out, sparkle up and create your space with awareness! By shining and bringing your light inside, any darkness instantly disappears! Your bright shiny spirit acts as a new coat of paint on the walls!
In essence your rehab is really about clearing a space for YOU to come home to YOU! When you decorate your interior with YOU it shows on the outside as well! It isn’t necessary hold up a facade because the beautiful details on the outside ARE you!
In the Wizard of Oz Dorothy says “there’s no place like home.” When you are home and in your flow there is peace, happiness and comfort. Being aware and in the body IS your HOME SWEET HOME! ~Shine Your Light Debbie

Great post! You have a gift to express with words! Thank you!
Thank you and you’re very welcome Jen 🙂
this is so true. when there is pain in our hearts, regardless of what our outsides look like, we’re suffering inside. and when we don’t attend to it, it continues to hurt us and eat away at our facade on an energetic level.
beautifully put.
I had a “facade” experience while on vacation. My face had been itching for four days, and I couldn’t understand why. No rash formed, no redness, just itching. On the fourth day I found myself in Washington, DC – home of the 2-faced politicians. Then it struck me! My face was itching because I was peeling away my own “facades”. No more itching since then… Thanks for the great parallel!
You GO girlfriend! 🙂
