Hey there’s a Pink Moon rising tonight but what does it mean? Since everything is energy there are always spiritual meanings connected to the names that Native Americans chose.
The pink moon is named after the blooming flowers of moss pink. Although it is not actually pink, this full moon represents new and exciting things that could bloom if we choose to focus on them.
It gives us hope and reminds us to step up and take an active role in creating those things we would like to see manifest in our lives during this time.
The April full moon comes at the beginning of Holy Week for Christian’s and marks the beginning of Passover for the Jewish people. April full moons also mark festivals and holidays in other parts of the world. In India, Hindus celebrate the birth of Hanuman in a festival called Hanuman Jayanti.
In Arabic-speaking Islamic traditions, the night of the full moon is called badr, for full, but the root of the word also has connotations of health and beauty, says Fadwa El Guindi in “By Noon Prayer: The Rhythm of Islam.”
The Moon cycle is the most natural symbol of the passage of time and with this full moon in Libra, we will find ourselves balancing the spiritual with the physical. We have an opportunity to explore our body/spirit relationship as well as our relationship with others.
With all types of relationships being illuminated, this full moon opens us up to new possibilities, opportunities, and connections. We will also find balance between our interpersonal relationships and being true to ourselves.
Many times full moons shine a light on where we are disconnected from ourselves. If you notice a disconnect, acknowledge it instead of resisting it. When we are in neutral to the signs, symbols and information that comes our way, we are returned to (or create) that sense of harmony within gracefully and effortlessly.
This moon is super charged so honor your spiritual space and turn your attention within to seek out your intuition for guidance and clarity. As with all full moons there will be truths coming to light that are both pleasing and disturbing. No one said a spiritual path would always be a bed of roses.
Go with the flow, take deep breaths, find your balance and return to center. Enjoy the ‘bright and shiny’ that shows itself and enjoy those truths that appear out of the darkness. After all, we can’t very well heal or deal with those parts we can see. Both sides are a gift. Welcome them!~Shine Your Light Debbie
