Destiny is yours to create! Are you trying to control it?

“Destiny grants us our wishes, but in its own way, in order to give us something beyond our wishes.”~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Destiny is in YOUR hands! You have the power to create it but perhaps what you think your destiny is and the vibration you put out is merely a small piece of your soul purpose! What if your destiny is BIGGER and more wonderful than you are imagining and you are limiting your creativity by trying to control the outcome?

Control over your destiny comes in many forms. It could be constantly worrying or dwelling on past failures. It comes in the form of those little thoughts of doubt and fear that creep in. It might even be that at some point in your past you decided you couldn’t ‘have’ anything more than what you have. The negative thoughts which run through your head have the power to limit your destiny and take you off your path just as positive thoughts have the power to help in manifesting your dreams.

It doesn’t really matter what form it comes in or where the control comes from; Controlling your destiny does not work. It is steeped in resistance, effort and well, control. It is precisely that control that causes you to get stuck and feel like a hamster on a wheel going round and round. Your spirit knows where you are going and having a stranglehold on your growth merely prolongs you getting there and often times limits creativity and takes you off your path completely. Imagine what could be if you didn’t limit yourself! Imagine if you let go of HOW to get there and instead followed your intuition and inner guidance allowing things to effortlessly unfold? What if the “destiny” you “think” you’re headed towards is actually more profound, expansive and beautiful than you are imagining?

Your Spirit Knows!

“…you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”~ Steve Jobs

Beyond logic and thought there is your spirit and spiritual essence. You came here with a purpose and your spirit knows how to fulfill that purpose. You must trust that your spirit knows and will guide you. Why limit yourself by trying to control what is infinitely more than what you could imagine? All it takes to create your destiny is to put it out there! It takes trust, a bit of healing and allowing your creativity to flow freely.  Your spirit knows this. In fact YOU know your spirit knows this! How do you know you know? When you’ve been knocked off your true path, there is effort, negativity and the feeling of being stuck.  You know you are headed in the right direction when it feels good. You know when it feels right. You know it when you stand bold and tall with confidence. You know when you feel like nothing can stop you!

Let go of trying to control your destiny. Put the dream of what you want out there with the intent that whatever happens is for your highest good. Dream it, will it,  let it go and allow it to unfold. Follow your intuition and trust in spirit. Let your destiny come to you by allowing it to unfold! Embrace your true purpose and let it shine! Embrace your goodness and know that all things happen for a reason. Imagine what life would be like if your destiny is actually MORE than what you imagine!~Shine Your Light Debbie

What are you feeling?

This is a guest post by Stevie Ray Robison. It really speaks to getting to the bottom of things.

What are you feeling?

It’s a simple question. But it’s not always so easy to answer. Especially when we’re feeling less than our best.

I remember a time walking on the beach. I was confused about the relationship I was in, wanting it to be different, clinging to expectations. I was led to continue to dig deeper. I kept asking “what’s under that?” The conversation with myself went something like this…

“What are you feeling?”

“Sadness. Disappointment.”

“What’s under that?”

“I feel small, hurt, unworthy.”

“And what’s under that?”

“I feel like I deserve what I’m getting. I’m small, so I’m feeling small.”

“Yes. What’s under that?”

“I never felt like I was enough for my parents. They made me feel like I wasn’t trying hard enough.”

“What’s under that?”

“I’m angry. They shouldn’t have judged me. They should have loved me simply and completely.”

“And what’s under that?”

“It makes me sad to remember how I felt when I was young and powerless. I guess I still feel small.”

“What’s under that?”

“Compassion. My parents did the best they could. I forgive them.”

“And what’s under that?”

“Peace. I feel better. I love myself.”

“And what’s under that?”

“Love. Light. Beauty. God.”

“How’s that feel?”

“Perfect…”
