Who wrote the script?

Wouldn’t it be great if we all had a team of writers working on the script of our lives? They would write, edit and re-write as needed to make it interesting. All of our interactions would be exactly as written so you would know not only how to respond but how the others will respond to you.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was an award-winning director and producer? They would tell you where to stand, what to do and even HOW to say your lines so they are most effective.

Your dialogue and actions would be written BEFORE you receive the script but as with every masterfully written manuscript, once in motion, there are things that don’t  work or fit into the scene. This causes an on the spot change. Sometimes even the best laid plans don’t work as well as one would think.

Clearly life would be easier if it came with the perfect script but of course this is not the case. We all must walk our journey and although we have a vision, at times we must consider a re-write or re-direction on the spot.

Sometimes our choices are not thought out well the instant we need to make them and so we learn to make our way more delicately next time. There is no script or handbook for life especially when emotions take over. With no direction, rehearsal or ‘re-write’ we must live with our choices.

Good or bad, right or wrong there are times when what we do or say becomes less of a choice and more a reaction. Being human is just that, being human! Having emotions and feelings are two of our greatest gifts!

Consider for a moment forgiving yourself for those times when your humanity took over! It is OK to venture from the script, try something new and YES make a mistake! This is all part of being human.

If there is a script in place who wrote it? Was it you? It is indeed possible that the path you are following is someone else’s script! Your well-meaning parents (or someone else) could have written it or if you wrote it, check to see if it is based on someone else’s novel.

You cannot live an authentic life and be the best YOU if you are following someone else’s information no matter how well-meaning it is. No one knows how to be the best you except YOU!

If any aspect of your life feels scripted or controlled, take it as a clear sign that someone other than you may be producing & directing! If the script you have in hand doesn’t feel right it might be time for a re-write or perhaps a brand new script altogether! 🙂

To be sure, it is not easy to play yourself! Especially if you don’t know who that self is! You may have lived by someone else’s script or direction for so long that your ‘role’ has become your truth.

The most rewarding role you play in this lifetime is one of being the best YOU. If you are not happy with the way things are going, maybe it’s time to change direction!

The production and direction of your life comes from finding the passion that burns within. Discover and awaken to that passion and BE the best YOU living your own script.~Shine Your Light Debbie

  1. Thank you, Debbie. Funny how often even when we think we are writing our own scripts and we aren’t. Oh, brainwashing is a powerful thing. Very much.

    • You’re welcome Renuka 🙂 It’s not so much about brainwashing as programming. It’s only when you live your life based on that programming rather than following your heart’s true path that it is an issue. The good news is…programming can be cleared ❤
