The Accidental Tourist~The 6 degrees of CONNECTION:)

Six degrees of separation: Artistic visualization.

There is nothing ‘accidental’ about the situations and people you meet throughout your life. Everything and every ONE has a purpose and each person has crossed paths for a reason. The 6 degrees of Separation theory is about how connected we are. What fascinates me is how those connections can and often do shape our lives!

Last month I took a journey into the realm of relationships by offering a special reading on the subject. Honestly I thought I’d be reading about love. What I discovered had more to do with RELATING and CONNECTIONS.

Initially it seemed simple. You meet someone, you connect, you are relating. The connections I’m referring to go beyond that of a lover or friend. Everyone has a very unique and different relationship with the people in their lives so how do those connections affect others?

What I found most interesting was the crossing of paths. I am now very clear this is no accident. I admit that Facebook played a part as my journey into ‘relating’ expanded. On an energetic level I began to look at those seemingly chance encounters that may have played a bigger part than one might think.

Here’s where it gets interesting. I began to discover connections that happened well before I ever met the person. At first glance, it seemed like coincidence but then I realized there were so many instances of 2 people knowing each other prior to my connection with either of them that I was hard pressed to dismiss this as mere coincidence.

Example: I noticed mutual friends in my FB friends list. When I asked how they knew each other, it turned out that they dated well before I ever knew either one of them. OK big deal right? BUT we move in completely different circles and met years later in unrelated places.

Another example is my cousin coming into town to work on a movie. I hadn’t seen her in at least 10 years as she lives and works in California. I was driving her around and she needed something on set so instead of just  few short errands and back to the hotel I ended up on the movie set, This led to meeting someone, a Harley ride on a beautiful night in Chicago and finding unconditional love in my heart. 🙂

Although I am no longer with said man listed above we are friends, I still love him unconditionally and before meeting him I didn’t know it was really possible to  love someone without expectations or conditions. Incidentally, shortly after we met my cousin left the job and went back to CA. I’ve always thought that the real reason she came here was to introduce us. 🙂

Think of how many things have to happen to put you in a certain place at a certain time to meet a certain person or have a chance encounter with someone who then passed through your life like a tourist on vacation.

The chance encounters of people you don’t even know yet could actually be part of  bringing a new friend, a beautiful lesson or very special person into your life! There is no real answer here other than paying attention to how the ‘tourists’ who have passed through have affected or shaped your life in ways that were not revealed at the time.

I’m reminded me of George Baily in It’s a Wonderful Life” when Clarence shows him how life would have been if he hadn’t been there. He touched and affected the lives of everyone he knew.

Whether it is through our 6 degrees of connection or how we directly affect the lives of those we hold in our hearts each one of us is valuable and touches MANY lives!~Shine Your Light Debbie

~BEING SEEN: Shining brightly is not always easy~

I’m going to begin this blog with one simple statement: YOU ARE A MAGNIFICENT BEING! When you were conceived there was an explosion of light! You fit all that brilliance into a tiny fertilised egg! I don’t know about you but I consider conception one of the most amazing things in the world! It is truly a miracle in and of itself!

Several years back I was blessed with the opportunity to be in the room during an IVF procedure to transfer the fertilised egg from test tube to future Momma. Now as if it isn’t amazing enough that an egg can be fertilised outside the body, what I witnessed was even more so.

The monitor flashed a bright light as they implanted the egg and the nurses explained to me that it happens every time and they are not exactly sure why. Being a clairvoyant I could absolutely see why! The spirits (I saw 2 distinct beings) entered the physical!  Frankly I was in awe of the miracle that was happening right before my eyes!

OK, so you were conceived then you were born into a really cute baby body! You all know how cute EVERY baby is!  When you laughed, that first little baby laugh, the whole room lit up and everyone smiled and laughed with you! You may not have noticed it  then (or remember it), but no matter what was going on, everyone stopped to make you laugh and raised their own vibration to come up to yours!

You were ~BEING SEEN~! And not only were you being seen but everyone around you got a healing! Now, the question becomes, right now, in present time, are you being seen or are you hiding?! Are you shining your bright self or have you toned it down? Are you hiding in lonely isolation or are you out there being seen?

So why is it that we turn down our light? While I don’t think there is any one answer to that question, it IS worth exploring. I’m sure you all know at least one person, if not yourself, who is isolated in some form or fashion. People hide behind their work, computer or cell phone so as not to be seen and this isolates them.

Sometimes you hide because of not feeling worthy or that someone might not like you. Maybe you are feeling insecure or think you have “bad” energy.  Sometimes it’s because you don’t want to have that uncomfortable conversation and other times, you are simply isolating yourself because you are in pain or unhappy.

It may be that you lower your vibration and hide so that others feel comfortable being around you. After all you don’t want to shine if someone around you is hurting. The last one is actually BIG! 🙂 It may be that you bring down your vibration or dim your light because you don’t want to “stand out”. It could also be just plain FEAR!

~BEING SEEN~ and shining brightly is not always easy…especially when you are going through a difficult time. On the other hand it’s also not easy if you are feeling GOOD and others around you are having a rough time. In either case when you get yourself grounded & centered, begin to shine and see the bright side of YOU, you heal! When you raise your vibration even in the midst of a difficult time, the energy starts to clear and you can once again begin living from your bright self!

Healing others is all about you healing yourself first. How often have you turned down your HAPPY  waiting for someone else to heal so they can come with you on your journey? This is very common thing to do in fact.  Well, here is another fact….you can’t heal someone else if they don’t want to heal! They may not be ready or even want to step up and really that’s OK. It is their choice to make but you don’t have to let THEIR choice become YOUR choice!

There is a wonderful excerpt from  Return to Love by Marianne Williamson that I would like to share as it gets to the heart of what I’m talking about. I know it’s a bit long but very much worth reading:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is out Light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Why not take a moment right now to heal and liberate yourself? Close your eyes and turn your attention within. Allow your light to shine as brightly and brilliantly as when you came into your body! Find your inner spark of light!  Release that baby giggle from those adult lips! Allow the fear to fall away and shine your “BRILLIANT, GORGEOUS, TALENTED and FABULOUS” light upon the world! ~Debbie
