Did you turn off your ability to ‘see’?

The term psychic comes from the Greek and by definition means ‘of the soul’. There are many mis-conceptions about the term ‘psychic’ and having psychic abilities. There are several very talented psychics out there who predict the future and that’s great but what about using and opening up to YOUR abilities in the present?

Everyone has and already uses at least one or two of their psychic abilities. If you’ve ever walked into a room and felt uncomfortable or just ‘had a bad feeling’ about something you are using your intuition.  Intuition is one ability and another is the ability to see energy. Those of you who practice holding an image in your mind are using your ability to see!

The question in the title asks “did you turn off your ability to see” but it might be more appropriate to ask WHEN did you turn it off? You had this ability when you were born and as you grew up you were probably invalidated for using it. Most children have their abilities ‘turned off’ at a very young age for various reasons. A child sees or senses something and in their innocence usually blurt out what they see whether it is proper to do so or not. They also see things that their parents don’t want them to see.

At a very young age we begin to invalidate what we are seeing as real because we’re told it’s our imagination, we’re crazy, wrong or we’re not really seeing it and the more we are told this the less we trust it. If you happen to ‘see’ something you’re not supposed to energy gets thrown directly at your 6th chakra. It’s hard to ‘see’ with a big blob on your third eye!

Open your inner eyes and see!

As with all your psychic abilities you need to feel safe and trust what you are experiencing. Let’s face it, in the world today there are things we choose not to see. We are lied to by our politicians, employers, friends and those with an agenda. We don’t want to see pain, suffering, poverty or that someone we love is not being truthful. There are times we don’t want to see ourselves and own our own truth. It’s not always comfortable to see the truth so it takes courage to turn this ability on.

When you see clearly, you begin to separate the truth from the lies and this includes those lies you’ve told yourself or bought into. Looking at yourself is the first step toward opening your inner eyes again. You’ll be amazed at how much clarity you gain by merely deciding and giving yourself permission to see!

Just for fun, close your eyes for a sec and create a mental image picture of a rose. See it clearly with its petals, stem, leaves and even thorns. Can you see it? Now, allow all that ‘stuff’ on your third eye that says you are wrong and you can’t see to go into the rose then like magic make the rose disappear. Believe it or not you just used your psychic ability to see and cleared some energy in the process!

How simple and fun was that? The truth is, it really is that simple! The more you clear and access your own abilities, the easier it is and the more you will trust what you see. You are not wrong for seeing, it’s not your imagination AND you may be psychic not crazy!~Shine Your Light Debbie

Marriage Vows for Spirit & Body

Falling in love and getting married is a wonderful thing. When you meet that special someone, stars shine in your eyes, your thoughts become romantic dreams, everything looks beautiful and all seems right in the world. As your love grows with each passing moment, you may make the decision to get married and spend the rest of your life together. Marriage is the commitment that says you will be together ‘until death do you part.’

Although ceremonies and vows differ by culture, religion or custom, wedding vows are promises; Commitments to love, honor and cherish, in sickness and in health, through good times and bad, for richer or poorer etc. It doesn’t matter if you marry using customary vows, write your own or make an agreement under the stars on a remote beach with just the two of you. You are pledging and proclaiming your love and commitment to one another by agreement.

Marriage is a sacred space between two people both spiritually and physically.  A union that says you will journey together on the path of life. It’s interesting to note that most understand the concept of two people coming together in this way yet don’t consider the concept of body & spirit union and making those very same vows! OK I know, there should be a big ‘gotcha’ there 🙂

Your spirit and body are already in union and ‘until death do you part’ is pretty much a given but what commitments have you made to your body?  Do you  respect, love, honor and cherish it? Has what was once a wonderful relationship become stale and abusive or did you never really love your body because you were too fat, or thin, or your nose is too big etc? Are you constantly invalidating, judging, ignoring or punishing your body and seeing only the imperfections? If you are not loving, cherishing and honoring your body you are in an abusive relationship!

Commit to loving your body and re-new your vows!

This might seem silly but you only have one body and it really is ‘until death do you part’! Like any good marriage it takes commitment to caring for and loving it each day. Eating healthy foods, listening to your body and giving it what it needs, getting enough rest, daily exercise and pampering yourself are certainly all part of a life long marriage.

It’s not that you have to like every single part of your body, but it’s important to have and accept the body that your spirit co-habitats with.  Think of it this way, would you continue to live with someone or even have them as a friend,  who treats you like you sometimes treat your body? As spirit, you made an agreement to be born into this particular body, at this particular time, to learn certain lessons…yes YOU chose your body before you were born and it’s up to you to care for it!

Pronounce and proclaim your marriage!

Look in the mirror and say the following words or write your own as they apply to you:

“I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and listen to you all the days of my life. I promise to have respect and honor you, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.”

Enough said 🙂 ~Shine Your Light Debbie
