What will you ADD to the world today?

“To attain knowledge, add things everyday. To attain wisdom, remove things every day.” ~Lao Tzu

Today is one of the most important days of your life. It’s a day for changing the dynamic as you consider your contribution to whole of humanity.

It’s a day to shift your attention from trivial pursuits to what’s most important to you. Waking up in the morning gives you a new day to live, love, learn and connect with your inner joy. It’s also important to recognize that what you do with this day adds to the whole. What do you want to add?

It’s challenging at best to grow and deepen our connections when the energy of fear, anger and pain are running rampant. If you take a step back for a moment (and take a breath for that matter) you will perceive a bigger scenario in the outer world and what we see in the outer world is generally connected to something within ourselves. The details will differ but the overall emotion or feeling experience is the same.

If your best friend was afraid, angry or hurting do you look the other way and ignore them or do you listen to why they feel the way they do? How do you calm them down and soothe them? Do you offer love, compassion and empathy?

When you are afraid, angry or hurting what steps do you take to calm and soothe yourself? When you have arrived at your answer ask yourself are you offering the same to those you don’t know or find yourself in conflict with.

Today we have a tremendous opportunity to attain knowledge by adding consciousness and to attain wisdom by letting go of fear, anger and pain. To those who say ‘but we’ve been here before and look how it turned out’, I encourage you to consider that what we are going through now is an opportunity to shift how it turns out. We are creating a brand new ending.

“Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.”~Carl Bard

What you add to this day is directly related to what you are willing to let go of. Are you willing to let go of any fear, anger and pain that comes up to effectively communicate with those stuck in fear, anger and pain?

Better yet, take a few moments to focus on what you’d like to add to the world. Is it happiness, joy and peace? Is it love, compassion and understanding? Whatever you choose to add, imagine others adding it too. This is how we bridge the gap and heal the divide. This is what oneness and unity looks like. This is what changes the ending. Drawn to the Light

Drawn to the Light….

Drawn to the Light“The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.”~Carl Sagan

Everything we see and hear is based on perception. Change how we see and everything will change. If we were to look at earth from just above the atmosphere we would see mere dots of light.

We would not recognize people and their differences. We would only see lights of a collective city or country. There would be no sound as we gaze at the twinkling lights and if we move farther away, we would not even see the lights. We would only see the earth as a pale blue dot.

When we look up, we see stars in the sky and yet those stars might be planets. We do not see the details. Unless we are looking through a telescope, we only see lights. There is no real difference between the stars and planets except for perhaps that one might be brighter than another.

In this vast universe, we are but specks of light and often times we get so caught up in the detail, we forget to take a step back for a completely different view. Our lives are but a “very small stage” in a very small area on the planet just as the “Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena.”

“Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every “superstar,” every “supreme leader,” every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.

Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.

It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we’ve ever known.”
― Carl Sagan

Imagine a world where each of us chooses to deal more kindly with one another. Imagine taking responsibility to preserve and cherish this planet we call home. Imagine a world where we cherish the light of each others souls. If each of us chooses to recognize, honor and preserve the light within ourselves and others, we bring more light, more joy and more love to this planet we call home.~Shine Your Light Debbie
