MOM WAS RIGHT! Cleaning IS good for the soul!

cleanSo OK here it is! I admit it! My Mom was right! Cleaning is good for the soul! She has always told me that since I was little and how right she was and indeed IS! I will add that cleaning is not only good for the soul but it’s good for your spirit as well!

I have a little joke about how I know when I’ve lost my space……I look around my home there are dishes piled in the sink,  the windows have a dusty film,  laundry is stacked high and there seems to be a layer of dust on everything.

When I notice my physical space looking like this, of course, I know it’s time to clean! No matter how long it takes, I begin to clean, room by room, top to bottom. When I’ve finished and everything is sparkling it FEELS really good! I can enjoy my space again. Perhaps you’ve noticed the very same thing after you’ve done a really good cleaning. It feels good right down the soul! 🙂

When I’ve lost my physical space it’s a  reminder to check in on my spirit space as well. Just like the space in your home you have a spiritual space that may be in need of a clearing out or cleaning. In the spiritual sense, there may be energies that have “piled up” in your space. Specifically energy that isn’t yours.

You could have picked up energy in your day-to-day encounters like work, it could be old from when you were a child or current family & friend responsibilities. There are many reasons why & how you collect up this energy but I’m going to speak of this in general terms. 🙂 So how do you know if you’ve lost your space? Well, that’s a really good question to ask! And the answer is….if it doesn’t feel good it’s probably not yours!

Have you ever thought or made a statement like  “I just don’t feel quite like myself today” “I don’t feel comfortable in my own skin” “There’s so much going on in my head right now”? Do you ever feel overwhelmed or have the feeling like you are unable to move? These are all indications that there are other energies in your space.

Sometimes you can be so caught up in the foreign energies and chatter you can forget who you are. When spirit is acknowledged you remember who you are and the rest merely falls away…..NO EFFORT.  I call this a miracle! As you bring back your own energy/essence everything seems a little brighter, you can manifest your dreams and create effortlessly! You FEEL GOOD in your own skin and you are comfortable being YOU!

Now the question becomes how do you get your space back? One of my good friends calls it needing to “get organized around yourself” again. I know for me one answer is meditation & grounding.  When you allow yourself the space to sit quietly behind your eyes, connect with the planet and let go of the “chatter” you will begin to find the glory that is you.

When I teach simple meditation techniques it’s amazing to watch the students as they begin to release and be in a place of *BE*ING not *DO*ING.  As a clairvoyant I see each person connecting with themselves on a deeper level and discovering their own light. When this happens even the room gets brighter!

The amazing thing about clearing out and getting your own space back is what you might find! Here is a great example in simple everyday life terms: A friend of mine was just telling me that she & her husband cleaned out their basement of all the boxes that were piled there. She mentioned that she couldn’t believe the “stuff” that had been sitting in those unopened boxes for years…a lot of which hadn’t even been unpacked since her move back from Hawaii several years ago!

As she unpacked the boxes, she began to discover pieces of herself…in her words “things I totally forgot about but that I LOVE”.  As she was describing this to me I could hear the joy & happiness in her voice of having re-discovered parts of HER! She was not only clearing out and re-owning her basement (space) but finding the joy of those parts of her she had forgotten about while in the midst of busy every day life.

Thus it is the same with your spiritual space! The next time you feel like you aren’t quite YOU why not take a moment to reconnect with yourself, clear out the clutter and dust off your aura! You never know which parts of YOU that may have  been “forgotten”, packed away or covered up by other energies that could show up, bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart! SO THANKS MOM! A Lesson from my Souls…Letting Go

rainbowLetting Go

I’m calling this post Lessons from the souls. You’ll see why as you read! It’s about letting go. 🙂 In several of my clairvoyant readings I’ve noticed how what we hold on to can get in the way of bringing in what we really want in our lives. I see this and hear it from people every day. Before I begin my story, I’ll just ask you to think about a few things….Have you ever held on to something well past its usefulness? This can be a thing, an energy, a thought, a person, a relationship or even lie that you’ve held on to for so long that it became a truth. Think about it. I’ll bet there’s something you can think of! Now I’ll tell you about an experience I had that goes directly to the point…and it’s literally what I’ve learned from my souls!

I am a runner training for a 1/2 marathon. Bet you didn’t see that coming! Read on 🙂 You may not know that you need to change your running shoes at about 500 miles or every 6 months give or take. Due to economic circumstances (or perhaps not as you’ll see) I’ve been unable (or for some reason unwilling) to purchase a new pair and have been running in the same shoes since last December. They have about 1000 miles on them, no support, no cushion…in effect, they are ‘dead’. I’ve worn them long past their point of being useful. For the last few weeks when I would get up to run  I found myself  in total resistance to running. Probably due to  having been in physical pain every time ran in those shoes. The pain wasn’t only  during the run but afterwards for another day! Since my race is coming up in early August, last weekend I was facing a 12 mile run and just could NOT run in my old running shoes. I made a decision to run in another pair of athletic shoes  that are much too heavy and bulky for a long run, yet very stable with good support. I knew my legs would tire faster but I was determined to complete my training run. In essence, I needed to let go of my old running shoes, take a leap of faith and hope for the best!

I began to run and I immediately noticed NO PAIN! As I continued I started to think about why I hadn’t let go of the other shoes. It dawned on me that they were a gift from someone very dear to my heart. Someone who is still very dear to my heart but no longer in my life in the same way as when he gave me the gift. I realized that I was still holding on to the pain of the relationship along with those shoes.  I knew I needed to let go.

As I allowed myself to let go a wonderful thing happened. I began to notice the beauty of the sun shining on the lake, I took a different running route and discovered a butterfly and bird sanctuary, newly (spring) planted prairie grass, the sun shining through the trees! I realized that in all my previous long runs, always taking the same route, I hadn’t noticed any of it!

Later on that day I also took a new direction and instead of going to the local running store to get my shoes, checked another store that is not known for selling running shoes. I had to laugh! Not only did they have my shoes but THEY WERE ON SALE and so discounted that I bought 2 pair!   By letting go I now had the space to go in a new direction and bring those other things into my awareness instead being in physical pain from running or the emotional pain from a relationship that had changed. I literally learned from my souls how holding on to pain can effect everything you do!

Perhaps while reading my story you were also thinking about something you are going through in your life. Something you are not letting go of or holding on to well past it’s point of usefulness. It could be an old energy, painful memory, circumstance, an old or current relationship, or possibly even grief. If  what you are holding on for whatever the reason no longer brings you joy, you are not learning, growing and creating ….Whatever it is it may be the perfect time to LET IT GO! Honor what you learned from the experience. You can’t change the past but you CAN let go and create the space to bring something new and wonderful into your awareness and your life!
