Thanksgiving and Giving Thanks

“Gratitude  is the inward feeling of kindness received. Thankfulness is the natural impulse  to express that feeling. Thanksgiving is the following of that  impulse.”~Henry  Van Dyke

Giving thanks is not the same as having gratitude and appreciation. Having gratitude and appreciation is about embracing, owning and “having” those things which have manifested in your life.

Gratitude is the inner feeling. The receiving and acknowledgement, if you will, for those things you already have. Having gratitude and appreciation is an inner expression of peace and contentment. In every sense gratitude and appreciation are vibrational messages felt deep in your soul that have the ability to shift your perception from negative to positive.

Giving thanks differs in that by giving thanks you are expressing in words and/or by deeds that which you feel inside. By giving thanks in any form whether it be a simple, heartfelt, verbal “thank you”, shouting thank you from the rooftops, writing a note, donating your time or money to help those less fortunate or saying prayer you are showing your gratitude and appreciation.

Often we are silent with the people we love. Often we do not thank those for whom we have the deepest gratitude and appreciation for and other times we do not give back as much as we probably should. Why do we hold back the heartfelt thank you s? Why do we not express and show how grateful we are every day? Only you can answer the question; Are you thanking those who mean the most? Are you giving back a bit of what you have been given?

Thanksgiving is truly a time to visit your inner world and find gratitude and appreciation for all that you are, all that you have, and for those who helped you with lessons along the way. Say thank you to those who may not know how grateful you are. Give thanks for your abundance. The greatest expression of living in abundance is giving. Many are struggling right now and your thanks-giving might be the very thing they need to find hope and a moment of peaceful joy. Even silent giving says thank you to the world but it is still important to say thank you.

“To  give thanks in solitude is enough. Thanksgiving has wings and goes where it must  go.
Your prayer knows much more about it than you do.”~Victor Hugo

Giving thanks brings balance to gratitude and appreciation. Say thank you for what is on the inside! Why not make it a daily practice? Start now and by the end of the year you will create a beautiful habit of thanking those you are grateful to!

I would be remiss if I did not say thank you to all of YOU. To my family, friends and readers, my gratitude and appreciation is endless and I thank you for filling my heart with love through the love and support you’ve shown me. Thank you for reading and sharing and caring. We are creating a healing vibration that cascades out and touches others. Thank you with all my heart! Happy Thanksgiving! Bountiful blessings to you and yours!~Shine Your Light Debbie

BE FEAR-LESS!

“I  learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The  brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that  fear.”~Nelson  Mandela

Does fear rule your decisions? Are you conquering your fears or are they conquering you? Fear is actually an important emotion which helps protect you from legitimate danger. It is an instinctual part of you which gives you present time information for your survival.

Fear is very useful, such as you following your intuition  telling you to get out of harms way;  BUT useful as it is it’s also an energy which has the power (if you let it) to keep you stuck and stop you from creating or moving forward based on real or imagined “pictures”. Being fear-less does not mean you don’t have fear it means you take time to find out if those fears are real or imagined. It means lessening your imagined fears.

What is it that you fear and why do you fear it? If fear is not being caused by something happening in the present moment it is an energy or picture. According to Wikipedia if you are not in imminent danger ” fear almost always relates to future events, such as worsening of a situation, or continuation of a situation that is unacceptable.” From an energetic viewpoint, you have energy stuck in a picture. It isn’t until you de-energize the picture, call your energy back and clear it that you will break the hold it has on you. Fear is full of resistance and the energy of fear is not in alignment with your playful spirit and it’s possible that the fear is not even yours!

“We  gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really  stop to look fear in the face… we must do that which we think we  cannot.”~Eleanor  Roosevelt

There are times when fear is so gripping one can’t move. This is the time to look fear in the face and really examine what’s really going on inside. What is the picture or thought you hold? Are you afraid of not being perfect? Are you afraid of being ridiculed for your choices? Did someone once tell you couldn’t do something or invalidate your creation? Do you feel you don’t  deserve happiness, excitement, a wonderful relationship, an abundant life so you’re afraid of creating it or do you fear if you move forward to create it that it might be taken away?

Whatever you fear it’s important to find the picture which gets stimulated to cause that fear. Once you find it, it’s not just about letting the picture or energy go it’s about empowering yourself and standing in your own truth. You will notice if you look at your fears that they are probably based on something someone told you or a painful experience from the past. For instance if you were hurt deeply or invalidated  it’s a good thing to look at how those (possibly) deep-set fears effect your current decisions or lack thereof.

Our  deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are  powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens  us.”~Marianne  Williamson

Look fear in the face and BE FEAR-LESS!  When fear rears its ugly head and stops you in your tracks, look inside and ask yourself if it is based on present time facts or past time pictures. If it is the former, of course listen and do what you need to do for your safety. If it is the latter look fear in the face and say: “HA I laugh at you! You don’t have a hold on me! Be gone!” Amusement goes long way!

You have the power to become the fearless tiger who knows whether to flee or stand up for itself.  Do not give in to fears of inadequacy. Like the tiger you are swift, brave, powerful and graceful. Have no fear of your light and creativity! Be fear LESS! Fill up with light and grace and ease. Be the playful, creative spirit you were meant to be and already are!~Shine Your Light Debbie
