Energy & Weight Loss~Part 2

Since the dawn of time every race, religion, culture & ethnicity hold celebrations which are centered around food. No wonder it’s so hard to lose weight when feeling good, love and belonging are all in a sense programmed into our world! 

As promised in ENERGY & WEIGHT LOSS~ Part 1 here are some practical tips to care for body & spirit:

Grounding-Take time to turn your attention within and quiet the mind allowing your body to calm. Grounding and centering creates safety. Your grounding connection with the earth is a way to release energy so you don’t have to carry it around with you. DESSERTS is STRESSED spelled backwards! Release the stress and bring your attention back to your body. 🙂

Eat with Awareness-Be aware of what, where and how you are eating! Notice how it tastes, how your body is feeling. Pay attention. If you zone out while eating, you may not even realize you have eaten! 

Listen to Your Body-Your body has lots to tell you! What is it that your body really wants? Try going to the produce section, take a moment to ground and ask your body what color it wants. When you have the answer, purchase fruits & veggies of that color. That color may be the very nutrition or vibration that your body needs & wants.

Feel Your Feelings-Your feelings don’t have a body therefore do not need to eat! They are your feelings. Feel and validate what you are feeling. Give those feelings a big energetic hug and if you are feeling bad or there’s a void, shift your focus to something that makes you feel good and fill up with that feeling instead of food.

Make the Body Real– Get moving! Go for a walk or some other form of activity. Notice your surroundings and your physical body. Walk in the sand and feel the earth under your feet. Get a massage. This will not only bring you instant body awareness but validates body AND spirit. Movement & body awareness in general helps you to ground. When you are conscious of your physical body you no longer need extra weight to feel real.

Clear Judgement-Be in a neutral place. Eliminate words like “good” and “bad”. You are not being “bad” if you eat ice cream! You ARE however making a CHOICE.  Make your choice and own it. If you choose something absolutely decadent, eat less of it. If you feel guilty later, ground yourself, let the judgement go and be in present time! You can’t go back and change the past but you can certainly decide to make a different choice next time.

Fill up with YOU-It’s not always about letting go; it’s also about filling up and replenishing with all that you are. Close your eyes and picture a golden sun above your head. Now bring that sun down through the top of your head and fill up! The more you fill up, the easier it is to let go of all that is not you. 

Protect Your Space– Protect yourself using energy & mental image pictures! While in meditation, picture yourself in a gold bubble of energy. Think of it like the earth’s atmosphere. When something is hurdling toward the earth, it gets burned off before it hits the planet. When you protect yourself energetically you no longer have to use your physical body weight to do it! 🙂

When you fill your mind with good thoughts, your heart with love and know that you truly belong as a powerful, valuable creator in the universe, you no longer have to weigh yourself down using food!~Shine Your Light Debbie

Energy & Weight Loss~Part 1

Each one of us is an eternal spirit in a human body. Our bodies are precious and in this lifetime you have only one! Not only is it something to be to cared for, but loved as well. 

While most of my blogs address the spiritual aspect of our lives, that is only half the picture. There is also this wonderful thing called your body! 

It is possible that you are not happy with your body and you are interested in losing weight. Whether you want to lose a pound/kilo/stone (or more) it IS all about energy! This is part 1 of a clairvoyant look at body weight from an energetic perspective.

As a  Weight Watcher meeting leader, having personally gotten rid of 86 lbs in 1996,  I have not only experienced the weight loss process but have the opportunity each week to motivate and watch others on their journey.

Losing weight can be a daunting task. Anyone who’s ever tried to get rid of even a few pounds knows how difficult it can be. There is a process and of course everyone knows that it’s about calories taken in vs. calories burned.

That said, there is another piece to the puzzle and that piece is the energy that you hold in your spiritual body AND at a cellular level. When you clear the energy it makes the process of losing a lot smoother.  🙂 

Physical body weight is actually there for a reason and it’s different for each person. There are people who want to cover up their pain or not be seen. Some have so much attention on them and/or are so sensitive to energy that they use it to protect their inner self. 

People use food to comfort their hurts and then hold on to the weight like a warm blanket. Some use food to fill a void. For some food= love, happiness and family, while others use the weight to become grounded and make the body feel real.

Of course those are not ALL the reasons but they are what I see most consistently. So why keep on the weight? Well, at an unconscious level it can be a protection,  a way to feel safe like being in a cocoon and/or can act as a ‘buffer’ between you and others.

No matter ‘why’, becoming conscious & aware of your body and what’s going on INSIDE is an important step! There is always a healing of the inner self in the process of losing weight and keeping it off. 

Take time to care for you! Close your eyes, take a deep breath. Be aware of your body and how it feels. Wiggle your fingers and toes! Ask your body what it wants or needs. Thank your body for all it does for you! You may put your body through a lot each day!
