Get Back on the Bike!

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” ~Albert Einstein

In the early morning ‘waking hours’ when I was aware but not fully in the body I clearly saw a bicycle leaning on a concrete wall.

I was a bit confused at the seemingly random image so I asked the question “what’s the bike doing there” and the reply came quickly “get back on the bike”.

Now I should probably explain that many years ago I taught myself to do what I call ‘dream walking’. The general idea is to have awareness in my dreams so I can observe, find meaning and ask questions. The only rules are while I can observe and ask questions I can’t change the direction or outcome of the dream.

The point is to open up to a deep level of consciousness and see what I’m processing and learning. You could say I’m observing and making conscious what is usually unconscious in the dream state. One of the many benefits of ‘dream walking’ is that I remember my dreams and the answers that I receive in those dreams.

In this particular dream seeing the bike leaned up against the wall didn’t seem all that profound. There wasn’t a lot of color in the image. It was just a bike leaning on a wall in what looked like a back alley of some sort. When I asked more questions (of myself) as I observed the scene I saw ‘the bigger picture’.

Around the corner from where the bike was positioned there were beautiful vistas, countless paths, bright orange sunlight glistening on fields and mountains. Everything was wide open. I, of course, asked the next logical question, “what’s this got to do with the bike?” and again I heard “get back on the bike”.

In those early morning hours before I was fully awake I looked back and forth from the dingy alley with little to no color, to the magnificent vistas filled with light. It was only then I remembered turning into the alley, falling off my bike and then propping it against the wall.

I was standing at the corner between the alley and the path for quite some time but all I could see was the small, dirty, grey alley. Apparently I became stuck in that little alley forgetting the bike was not only there to carry me out but to make the journey easier. A bike can surely take you farther with less effort that your legs right? It was a simple yet profound answer. “Get back on the bike”.

There’s a reason for the saying if you fall off a bike get right back on. The same applies if you get stuck in a picture. You don’t have to keep staring at a grey alley with the very means to continue right in front of your eyes possibly propped up against a wall.

Sometimes it simply takes recognizing you’re a bit stuck; then all you have to do is turn your head towards the light, step out of the picture, dust yourself off and “get back on the bike.”

So many answers in those waking hours put a smile on my face. In fact I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to greet the day. I’m not sure what you have planned for your day but me, I’m getting back on the bike. Won’t you join me? Shine Your Light~Debbie

Do You Really Want to “Settle” for Good Enough?

bubbletree“Take your victories, whatever they may be, cherish them, use them, but don’t settle for them.”~Mia Hamm

Is good enough REALLY good enough or has accepting good enough created a limit to what you can have? An interesting concept to ponder. If you are feeling stuck or in a place where you don’t feel you are putting your wildest dreams in motion maybe it’s time to shift the dynamic and let go of any thought patterns which, out of habit, lowers your vibration and limits your creations!

In a conversation with a friend she was telling me about the hopes and dreams she had in the past and how they actually turned out. I loved hearing about her hopes and dreams. Her eyes sparkled as she described the dream but then the sparkle dimmed as she sighed and described how it actually turned out. Let’s just say several of her life long dreams didn’t turn out the way she wanted them to. She kept saying everything “turned out ok” and was “‘good enough” even though she didn’t get what she really wanted.

“The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for.”~Maureen Dowd

OK so it’s true we don’t always get exactly what we want. It’s important to have gratitude and celebrate when some of it comes our way but the danger lies in continuing to settle. What happened to my friend after so many disappointments is she stopped dreaming BIG. She lowered her vibration and did not feel worthy or deserving of anything more. At some level she decided things would NEVER turn out the way she wanted them to so at some point she stopped putting into the universe exactly what she wanted.

“Every day, people settle for less than they deserve. They are only partially living or at best living a partial life. Every human being has the potential for greatness.”~Bo Bennett

Each and every one of us has the potential for greatness but if you don’t see it, imagine it, dream it and raise your having-ness for it, it will never come to pass. Use your victories as a foundation and never give up on those dreams. Even if you’re disappointed and feel like you’ve settled or failed, use it as a learning experience and raise your vibration again.

You deserve to life a FULL life! If you are stuck in a place where everything is always “just ok” or “good enough” take a few moments to explore the pivotal moment in your past when you gave up on your potential. Look within your soul to see if at some point you decided that “it’s always been this way so why bother”.

Have you considered that those moments were more about how much you could have at the time or that it just wasn’t the right time? What if all this time you’ve lowered your vibration and settled for less because you couldn’t have it then and it’s just around the corner now?!

Accept what is, celebrate your victories, lay a foundation and put it out there again! With all you’ve learned you may find you are creating a different and brighter picture. All things happen for a reason in their own time and maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t about settling but it wasn’t the right time! ~Shine Your Light Debbie

~Become a Visionary~

What are you dreaming of these days? What is your vision? Do you have a clear vision down to the smallest detail? Can you imagine what it would feel like to have that vision become reality? Your vision will never become reality if you don’t have a vision!

It is easy to become caught up in asking ‘why’ you are in this situation or that one.  ‘Why’ you don’t have this or that in your life. ‘Why’ you seemingly can’t bring in more money or that wonderful relationship. ‘Why’ you can’t seem to lose weight, bring in a new job, create something new or dare I even mention asking ‘why’ one particular person doesn’t love you.

The energy of WHY sends your attention outside of you. It takes your attention off what it is that you really want. It takes you out of your creative flow.  In many ways it takes control of your thoughts, keeps you stuck in a moment and in effort. Your ‘vision‘ ceases to be a vision as you try to figure it out. It becomes more about the WHY than anything else. When you are a visionary you have a dream! You have a goal! You have focus and purpose. You become the creator of your life instead of merely responding to your circumstances.  The more detailed and specific your vision is the more complete it will be.

The key to making your vision reality is awareness. You don’t have to focus on the HOW it will come to you because energetically how falls into place when your vision is clear; BUT unless you are aware of the OPPORTUNITY that presents itself it will be a challenge to collaborate with the universe.

First and foremost let go of the ego mind and energies that say ‘that’s too big a dream’ or ‘what are you thinking’, ‘you can’t have (or do) that’ etc. Find your dream! Let all the other stuff go! It’s just mindless negative chatter! It’s not YOU and it’s not a part of your vision! What is your dream? What is your vision? What would you like your life to be like? What are your personal, spiritual and career goals? What would you like to create?

Take a moment now to dream a little dream! Create a vision! Feel what it would be like to have that in your life! Make your dreams, goals and visions solid…create a vision board, write down in detail those dreams!

Use your wild imagination, find your highest vision and awaken your soul! Become a true visionary to predict your future and watch as your life changes! ~Shine Your Light Debbie
