When saying YES to others is saying NO to you…

PeaceblueThis above all; To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night  the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.”~ Hamlet Act I Scene III by William  Shakespeare

Have you ever found yourself saying YES to someone even though in doing so you were saying NO to yourself? I know I certainly have! I recently read Paulo Coelho’s Warrior of Light and one of the passages really got me thinking about how many times I’ve done this very thing and said YES to others at my expense. In retrospect there were all too many times when I said YES and responded how I thought I should and did not express how I was really feeling. Too many times when I was an out of control healer and did not say no….

So often we get caught up healing and giving to others that we lower our vibration and move away from our own truth. In my case I’m sure there were times I said YES because it was the right thing to do but how about the times it was because I wanted someone to like me or I was looking to be validated? How many times have I given up my space and responded by getting involved in the problems and drama of those who are perfectly capable of healing themselves yet they choose not to?  Probably all too many! Saying YES and helping a friend in need is important. Doing the “right” thing is also important; HOWEVER  saying YES in lieu of taking care of your own problems, challenges or health is something entirely different.

Be true to you…

It’s more common than not for people to say yes to others and we make up wonderful excuses for doing it. We tell ourselves there is a deadline to be met, we will be given back to or loved and dare I mention that at some level we think saying yes will bring us validation or recognition from those we said yes to?!  When you are being true to yourself and caring for you sometimes the kindest and most healing thing you can do for yourself and others is say NO. To be sure, saying NO isn’t easy especially when we’ve been taught since we were children to be gracious and kind; BUT why do we so readily say yes to others when it is saying NO to us? I can tell you from personal experience that saying yes doesn’t bring validation, love or recognition depending on who you say yes to. When it’s a “no” for us and yet we say yes, in essence we have allowed someone or something else to become more important (senior) to us.

If you are continually saying yes and afterwards find yourself beating yourself up or complaining about it, isn’t that saying NO to yourself? If it doesn’t feel good going into the yes or it causes you stress, isn’t that saying NO to you? How amusing it is we find it so difficult to say no to others yet say no to ourselves all the time! If you are a healer and giver you may be experiencing the effects of saying yes all too often. When saying yes is saying no to yourself you take on energies, pain and problems from others. If you don’t know what I mean, think about how often you struggle to find a solution to someone else’s problems. Think about the reasons you said yes in the first place. Keep in mind that NO is an option and you have a right to say it!

As we raise our consciousness and become more aware of our own energy and what we are doing with it, don’t you think it’s time to find balance? There are always things we must say yes to that in the end benefit us even though (initially) we wanted say no but in those instances when saying yes is saying no to you at a core level it bares a bit of contemplation. Certainly say yes when it’s a YES for you! Listen to your intuition and say NO if it doesn’t feel right. When saying YES brings joy to your mind, body, spirit and soul, that’s a YES for you! Don’t you think it time to say YES to YOU?  Repeat after me….YES! YES! YES to ME!~Shine Your Light Debbie

*2013* Clear Out the Old; Ring in the TRUE YOU!

Happy2013“There are no new truths, but only truths that have not been recognized by those who have perceived them without noticing….”~Mary Therese McCarthy (Author)

As we wind down from a tumultuous 2012 if there’s one thing we have in common about this past year it is; The shift is here and we are ALL in a growth period!

2013 is here and it’s the time take responsibility for those things we’ve been happily unconscious of and take charge of our lives based on TRUTH! It is time to forgive yourself for unconsciousness and make space for YOU. Time to clear out the old and ring in the true you!

2012~ The year of waking up

I can confidently say I’m not sad to see 2012 come to a close. It’s been a roller coaster ride of emotions, challenging situations and shocking truths as the darkness of lies was cleared in a blaze of light. The awakening, at times, wasn’t pleasant, smooth or gentle. Through the media and social media we stood (seemingly helpless) watching the economy of the world crumble because of greed. We watched stories about innocent children murdered and we bore witness to more anger and division in the world than I recall in my lifetime. Sadly, the road to truth means the energy of lies and unconsciousness must clear and as they do we must endure the growth period that comes along with it.

I could go month by month and do a year in review but I’ll leave that to the general media sources. Suffice it to say that as we awakened to more and more truth we began to question old assumptions about life and that there were many things that we didn’t even know we didn’t know. We discovered places where we were unconscious or things we simply ignored as we went on our merry way. We started to scream NO MORE and as we (hopefully) let go we scrambled to find meaning, forgiveness and peace for what we previously allowed to become our truth because we “perceived without noticing…”

Of course there were also moments of great joy and heartwarming stories as we rallied together to support those in need and stand up for those who, in that moment, were not able to stand up for themselves. The light of truth is not only to light up the darkness but to make us aware of the light! Many put in motion lifelong dreams that will bloom and grow in 2013. As we find our own truth, bring more of our own energy in and shine our inner light we teach others how to do it by our very presence. We are all magnificent beings of light and love and there are many beautiful stories we saw, shared and brought us hope but it is time to clear out the good, bad or indifferent to make space for the NEW!

2013 The year of honoring yourself!

As we move into 2013 it is more important than ever to question old assumptions which limit experiences, creativity, abundance and capacity to love. Awakening is not just about waking up. It’s about seeing and becoming aware of your energy and what you’re doing with it. Examining where your energy, thoughts and attention have been allows you to shift into a new space. In 2013 we will see more people take their spiritual steps to become “whole” again. (Not because they are broken but because they cleared out old energies, addictions and assumptions then brought more of their spiritual energy into their bodies.) In my clairvoyant reading sessions I’m seeing healers and light workers who are being asked to step up even more. What’s so beautiful about it is that many of them were unaware of the impact they have on others and they do not consider themselves healers or light workers!

2013 is a year of calling back any of the life force energy you’ve given away. It will be a time to get in alignment with your truth. There is no more “I’ll do it tomorrow” in 2013. Tomorrow is here. There is no need to predict the future because your future lies in your own hands.  2013 is the year to take charge of your life and destiny. It is the year to express your creativity and make your life’s work about making your life work.

When you see how truly magnificent and powerful you are when you honor yourself and align with your truth there comes a realization that there isn’t anything you can’t do or have. You are and always have been the creator of your life. It is time to breathe. It is time to meditate and heal. Clear out the old with hope for a brilliantly bright future and ring in the new year by fully bringing in your life force energy and integrating your passion and love and lust for life into your life.

Happy New Year! May you be blessed on your journey and love all you do and all you are. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous year filled with light and love! ~Shine Your Light Debbie
