What’s behind the facade?

A Facade is typically one side of the exterior of a building, usually the front, but also sometimes the sides and rear that shows the most prominent and detailed architectural features.

The structure is breathtakingly beautiful with its detailed craftsmanship from the outside, but what’s on the inside can be very different.

What was once a beautiful interior may be in need of a bit of rehab if no one’s lived there or taken care of it for a while. It may be outdated. There could be cobwebs, layers of dust, and the need for some new paint! You get the idea here. 🙂

Appearances can be deceiving! Some people spend their lives making sure the details are perfect on the outside, yet  neglect the very thing that needs a little rehab and holds the key to true happiness. Maybe it’s time to open the door to the inside!

There is really nothing outside of you that is going to make you happy on the inside. Not material things, not the perfect lover, not your friends. An energetic facade is occasionally put up to show others how ‘happy’ you are but if you are hurting inside it actually takes a good deal of effort to hold up!

Perhaps it’s difficult to look behind the facade if there is garbage piled up, or storage boxes of pain you’ve been meaning to unpack but still carry with you. If so, get out your broom and dustpan, gold cloth and start sparkling up the inside! No time like the present to clean it out and clear the “stuff” piling up in the corner!

Keep in mind that it’s not always easy to unpack the boxes. There can be painful memories that come up. If your energy is stuck in these memories you have less of it present to create with in the NOW but once you start, like any rehab project, there’s no turning back and the results will be STUNNING! 🙂

Here’s where it gets fun! YOU are the general contractor! YOU are the designer! You get to sweep out, sparkle up and create your space with awareness! By shining and bringing your light inside, any darkness instantly disappears! Your bright shiny spirit acts as a new coat of paint on the walls!

In essence your rehab is really about clearing a space for YOU to come home to YOU! When you decorate your interior with YOU it shows on the outside as well! It isn’t necessary hold up a facade because the beautiful details on the outside ARE you!

In the Wizard of Oz Dorothy says “there’s no place like home.” When you are home and in your flow there is peace, happiness and comfort. Being aware and in the body IS your HOME SWEET HOME! ~Shine Your Light Debbie

Tis a gift to be SIMPLE;Tis a gift to be FREE….

At times life can be complicated and full of drama. This can lead to becoming overwhelmed and looking outside yourself for answers or spending a good deal of time responding.

Much of what feels ‘complicated’ or ‘dramatic’ is really about trying to solve problems….yours or someone else’s! It also means that your energy is invested in a past or future ‘picture’ which complicates matters even more.

Have you ever noticed that when things are feeling out of control, complicated and dramatic that your attention seems to go toward wondering what someone else is thinking? What’s the hidden agenda? How might they react if you do this or that?

What if you returned to the innocence of kindergarten in present time? What if finding an answer was as simple as finding the nose on your face? What if finding that answer led to your freedom?

What if I told you that having awareness of the simple things around you could allow you to free yourself from the drama? Well….it CAN! It’s just a matter of going back to basics and appreciating the little things going on around you.

As you shift your awareness out of the drama, it might not seem so dramatic after all! Once you shift your awareness, you are no longer in the complicated web of ‘figuring it out’ and you begin pulling your energy out of the pictures you may be stuck in. 🙂

When was the last time you stopped to smell the roses? When was the last time you found joy in hearing a baby’s giggle or the laughter from child playing? When was the last time you watched the clouds as they drifted through the sky? When was the last time you took a walk along a seashore and merely listened to the seagulls?

How about a simple meditation of returning to your flow rather than using it to solve all your problems! Many times I see people using the great techniques they have learned to solve problems. I can tell you, it doesn’t work because the focus is on solving as opposed to clearing and creating change by shifting vibration.

Today as my mind was going in a thousand different directions a beautiful butterfly just about landed on my arm. As it flit about me I was reminded of the simplicity of freedom. I received a wonderful healing gift from that little butterfly!

Take a few moments each day to recognize the beauty and simplicity of nature around you. Step out of the drama and busy-ness of life long enough to smell the roses that exist around you and go about their own business of just being!

The simple things are gifts to remind us of what it’s like to be free. A rose is just a rose BEING a rose! A butterfly is just a butterfly BEING a butterfly! YOU can be YOU uncomplicated and free! ~Shine your Light Debbie
