Stop Blaming. Start Forgiving and Healing

Stop Blaming Start Forgiving and Healing“People spend too much time finding other people to blame, too much energy finding excuses for not being what they are capable of being, and not enough energy putting themselves on the line, growing out of the past, and getting on with their lives.~J. Michael Straczynski

Are you blaming someone or something for your current experience? Of course it’s THEIR fault! It’s the economy, family, your boyfriend or girlfriend, how you were brought up.. .who did it TO you. These are just a few of the “outer” situations or people we tend to “blame” when things become challenging in our lives. The problem is blame will never get you anywhere. Blame means a part of your valuable energy is stuck and holding on to the past. Blame means not taking responsibility for any part of the situation. It also takes forgiveness and healing out of the picture.

Blame is a way of rationalizing and making sense of chaos. It is far easier to blame others than to look inside and take responsibility for our part. The moment we stop blaming and start forgiving is the moment we start healing and moving on with our lives.

“When you blame others, you give up your power to change.”~Robert Anthony

In order to heal, create change, and move on with our lives we must take responsibility for our part. Now, I hear you saying you had no part in the creation of the problem (challenge or situation).  I may not be very popular the moment I say you ALWAYS play a part in it but it IS the truth. Maybe you were (are) afraid. Maybe you were (are) not fully aware of your impact on the situation. Maybe you saw, heard or felt something through your filters.

Blaming others is not the answer. Blaming yourself is not the answer. These are never the answers because blame holds on to the past. The longer you “blame” the more the past gets embellished and the more energy you have caught up in a past that is no longer truth but an illusion.

Your true power lies in the ability to forgive others for their part and forgive yourself for your part. It may mean you have to forgive yourself for zigging when you should have zagged. It may mean you must forgive yourself for something you did or said in the past. It may mean you have to forgive someone who deeply hurt you. It may mean you must forgive yourself for being afraid or in resistance.

Regardless of what you find yourself forgiving, you’ll know immediately when you are free because it will feel like a weigh is lifted off your shoulders. You are able to look at the situation or other person without anger, fear or blame and you begin creating things and moving forward again.

“Take your life in your own hands, and what happens? A terrible thing: no one to blame.”~Erica Jong

It’s interesting to note the word “blame”. As written it looks like B Lame or more to the point B (eing) Lame. It takes a strong and courageous person to end the blame game and take their life into their own hands. It takes a strong and courageous person to forgive. One of the bravest things you can do is look in the mirror, accept you played some part and forgive yourself. Look in the mirror! Be brave! FORGIVE!~Shine Your Light Debbie

Shift Your Attitude to Gratitude!

In honor of the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday in the USA it is time to explore and tune into the energy of gratitude and giving thanks. Having gratitude for what you have and all that you are is a powerful energy that will change everything in your life!

When was the last time you took a moment to look around and appreciate, I mean REALLY appreciate, all that you already have? How about yourself? When was the last time you sat quietly to appreciate and give thanks to your body for all it does for you? Been a while? If so, it’s time to CULTIVATE your GRATITUDE!

Gratitude and giving thanks allows you to have more in your life  by healing what you wish to heal and creating a space for more! It takes your attention out of the past or future and into the present which is where all creating takes place.  It sends a message into the universe that you are grateful for everything you have NOW.

Think of it this way, if you brought a gift to someone and they didn’t say thank you, then you brought another and they tossed it aside with no acknowledgement, do you think you would continue to give them gifts? You are receiving miracles and gifts on a daily basis. Having gratitude for these gifts sends a vibration into the universe. What message are you sending?

As an energy vibration gratitude can heal a broken heart, clear communication or stuck energy, and brings awareness to the abundance you already have in your life. Gratitude is naturally open and full of forgiveness.

Gratitude and giving thanks is not mutually exclusive to the positive things in your life. It also means finding gratitude for those difficult lessons, people who have hurt, invalidated or annoyed you. It means finding gratitude for those challenging lessons we all face every now and again. These people and experiences help us heal at a deep level in often profound ways.

It may not be easy to find gratitude for someone who broke your heart but give thanks and be grateful for the beautiful moments they brought you. You wouldn’t have had those beautiful moments or the experience if they hadn’t come into your life. There is a lesson you learned and more often than not, you discovered how strong and capable you really are!

How do you begin changing and shifting your attitude to gratitude? Very simply start a gratitude journal and every day for the next 30 days (or longer) jot down at least 5 things you are grateful for. Take time to think about and embody your gratitude as you write. Be sure to include those circumstances or people  you are having a challenge with.

Have gratitude for the lessons you have learned and the people who brought you those lessons. There is always something to appreciate and be grateful for even if it’s a hard lesson. Don’t forget gratitude for all that YOU are and the abundance that already surrounds you. Notice how your mood changes the more you write!

Creating change is a process and initially change is invisible because it happens on a vibrational level.  That said, these changes ARE affecting your life. At first you will notice subtle changes, then as you continue the process, the changes you see and feel are more profound! You hold in your hands the power to cultivate the ATTITUDE of GRATITUDE! Take time each day to appreciate your loved ones, your body & spirit, ALL you are and ALL you have!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I want to extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation to each one of you.  You touch my life with your light and inspire me to continue doing my work in this world. 🙂 BOUNTIFUL BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOURS!~Shine Your Light Debbie
